Philosophy
The service Crossroads Unlimited, Inc. is offering is to help participants achieve high quality lifestyle that will prepare them for greater independent community involvement. Crossroads Unlimited, Inc. believes that individuals with developmental disabilities are first and foremost, people with abilities. We will be providing individuals with a nurturing environment which will foster social skills and independent living. These habilitation services will include but are not limited to ADL training, community integration, social inclusion, social/leisure recreation personal/behavioral management. All programs will use a behavioral approach (measurable goals, functional analysis of behavior) with a service environment that stresses individual autonomy and choice. It is Crossroads Unlimited, Inc.’s intent to offer services in a manner which not only assists individuals in achieving the highest level of integration, productivity, and independence possible, but seeks to do so in an environment where their individuality and preferences are respected. Therefore, we hope to provide a safe residential and day habilitation environment that is not only conducive to learning, but even more importantly, is conducive to the individual’s general happiness, self satisfaction, and well being. Crossroads Unlimited, Inc. will commit to opening doors of opportunity for individuals by creating opportunities, offering choices, maintaining dignity, maximizing independence, instilling confidence and to teach continuously.
